Avast Antivirus Protect Review
avast antivirus protection
Avast is among the biggest names in cybersecurity market. It is known for its excellent malware detection, web security and other security features such as a boot-time scanner and virtual desktop. The product can also be used with multiple devices, and comes with an unpaid VPN.
It is available in three plans – Protection, Performance, and Privacy based on the number of devices that you have to protect. It is also installed on Macs as well as Android devices.
Our tests showed that Avast identified every single piece of malware on all of the systems we tested it on. This is a feat of excellence given that the software is able to detect more than 1.5 billion threats every month.
The software’s speedy boot-time scanning is a different feature. It checks your system for potentially risky files prior to when Windows loads. It took me less than an hour during my tests to run the entire scan on a PC with Windows 10.
Avast also offers a number of security tools aimed at protecting the data. Its Sensitive Document Shield can detect sensitive documents such as tickets, resumes, and invoices. It did not detect any sensitive files on the computer I tested it on. However, it did detect sensitive documents.
Avast’s email guardian will also scan your account for suspicious attachments and phishing links. There is also a feature dubbed Bank Mode, which provides a virtual desktop that is protected against keystroke loggers and screenshot attempts by third-party apps. Avast’s privacy policies are excellent. The company claims to only collect data that is necessary to protect. Its analytics division Jumpshot sells data only after it has been removed from the database.
